It's been a productive summer season for the EOSC community. In a move towards the sustainability of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) initiative, the EOSC Association was registered! Additionally, new publications, surveys, guidelines and an online video series were launched. Furthermore, the first version of EOSC Glossary is now available online - and lots more!
In the last month, two public consultations launched: one focused on the priorities of the future Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA), the other on synergies between Horizon and European strategic and investment funds (ESIF) in the EOSC Partnership. Among the key developments in the EOSC is the EOSC interim Governance's efforts to establish a European Partnership for EOSC under the Horizon Europe Programme as well as the upcoming launch of ten new Horizon 2020 projects expected to start by January 2021 to further develop and implement the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). In the EOSC Portal, a new funding opportunity has also been added from the Open Clouds for Research Environments project (OCRE) focused on consumable commercial cloud and digital services for researchers.

The past weeks have seen a number of consultations take place such as the EOSC Consultation Day and a survey launched by EOSC-hub on its proposals for the EOSC back office activities. Additionally, commercial providers have the opportunity to play a role in EOSC with the launch of the IaaS+ Tender estimated to be valued at €600 million. That's just the tip of the iceberg.
