Logo Design Competition for the European Open Science Cloud

Deadline: 25 February 2022, 23.59 CET

Over the past decades, large datasets have dramatically changed the way we perform and share research. Launched in 2018, the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) is establishing a fully operational web of data and related services for researchers in all domains.

Taking stock of the digital transformation of research in Europe – and EOSC’s role in driving more innovative, collaborative and effective research – we have decided to launch the EOSC logo competition.

Visualising the transformation of research in Europe

With our competition, we are looking for a new logo that showcases EOSC’s ambitious vision of cutting-edge, pan-European research through an integrated web of data and related services for researchers. This platform will serve all disciplines, whether researchers are looking for large sets of climate data, 3D scans of historical artefacts, digitalised manuscripts or DNA sequences.

We are looking for creative proposals featuring logos and colour schemes that can be used in various mediums (web, social media and print). The winning logo will ultimately provide the foundations for an entirely new visual identity for EOSC over the long term.

Criteria & eligibility

To be eligible for our logo competition, you must:

  • be a young creative (<30 years old)
  • be a graphic design student/recent graduate in Europe
  • have a unique approach to the topic.

Eligible candidates will compete for:

  • a cash prize of €5 000
  • the chance to present your logo design at the 2022 EOSC Symposium in Prague (accommodation and travel costs within Europe will be covered).

You can consult the design specifications and submission rules for further information.

Deadline

Design submissions will be accepted until 25 February 2022, 23.59 CET.

A jury of established designers and EOSC experts will review and select the shortlisted designs, which will then be put to a vote within the broader EOSC community.

Show us your design skills and leave your mark on the digital transformation of European research!

Get ready! Application will open in January 2022
