New Tour of the EOSC Catalogue and Marketplace

EOSC Portal

The EOSC Catalogue and Marketplace offer resources and services supporting the discovery, sharing, composition and analysis of research data. A virtual tour is now available to help users navigate this platform and make the most of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).

The EOSC Future project is committed to establishing a trusted virtual space for open science that is based on FAIR data principles. A key component of this vision is the EOSC Catalogue and Marketplace, whereby researchers, institutions, funding bodies and other users can access a wide array of resources and services in various scientific disciplines, along with integrated data analytics tools.

To help users find their way around, EOSC Future has developed a virtual tour of the EOSC Catalogue and Marketplace.

A step-by-step virtual guide

The online demo shows users how to:

  • browse the catalogue (by scientific domain, resource category or provider)
  • customise the number of items that appear in the search (by name, ranking, relevance)
  • categorise specific types of resources and materials
  • sort resources by specific disciplines, infrastructures or providers
  • filter services by category, rating, order time, accessibility
  • view details and ratings for specific resources or services.

There are many ways to browse the catalogue, and this online demo provides a step-by-step breakdown of new functionalities and search options. For unfiltered searches, the Browse all resources button directs users to the entire database of available resources. For more specific requests, the search bar, filters and autocomplete functions allow the user to refine their search.

User-driven development

In addition to showcasing new features, the tour is a means for designing a user-friendly platform. At the end of the demo, users are encouraged to share opinions and get assistance via the feedback tool. This input will help to ensure EOSC meets the needs of Europe’s research communities, not just today but for the future.
