Overview
The Research Data Alliance (RDA) open calls aim to bring data initiatives closer to EOSC and provide EOSC with expertise, tools, best practices, and standards from the global research data community. A total Budget of 1 Million Euros is reserved to fund over 65 grantees in 9 open calls.
This brief information sharing event is focused on giving highlights of the first RDA Open Call, focusing on Optimising (RDA) Open Science Frameworks and Guidelines in the context of EOSC, within the context of the EOSC Future project. Participants will also learn about future call plans and timelines and have an opportunity to ask questions.
The first call is seeking applications from individuals or organisations around the concept of improving existing technical data frameworks in support of EOSC while at the same time leveraging on existing RDA recommendations and outputs. Successful proposals will focus on maintaining, optimising and documenting existing frameworks with particular reference to RDA’s Outputs and Recommendations. Special attention will be given to mapping out how to reimplement the frameworks in the context of EOSC and make relevant documentation available. Proposals are expected to detail a future vision, for example of how the community will build future iterations so that future communities can easily operationalise the frameworks. The call is due to open around 19 August and deadline for applications is 30 October 2021.
