The Helix Nebula Science Cloud (HNSciCloud) hybrid cloud platform links together commercial cloud service providers and publicly funded research organisations’ in-house IT resources via the GEANT network to provide innovative solutions supporting data intensive science.


ICEDIG addresses the technical, financial, policy and governance aspects of implementing the DiSSCo (“Distributed System of Scientific Collections”) research infrastructure.


INODE – Intelligent Open Data Exploration aims at simplifying access to data, by allowing a more dialectic and intuitive interaction with data, similar to a dialog with a human.


NEANIAS is a Research and Innovation project as part of Horizon 2020 agenda that comprehensively addresses the ‘Prototyping New Innovative Services’ challenge set out in the recent ‘Roadmap for European Open Science Cloud (EOSC)’ foreseen actions. 

NEANIAS will drive the co-design, delivery, and integration into EOSC of innovative thematic services, derived from state-of-the-art research assets and practices in three major sectors: underwater research, atmospheric research and space research. 

NI4OS Europe

National Initiatives for Open Science in Europe – NI4OS Europe, aims to be a core contributor to the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) for enabling global Open Science and accelerating Innovation.


The Open Clouds for Research Environments (OCRE) project aims to give the European research community access to commercial digital services (IaaS, SaaS and PaaS cloud services), as well as Earth Observation (EO) services.

OpenAIRE Nexus

OpenAIRE-Nexus brings in Europe, EOSC and the world a set of services to implement and accelerate Open Science. To embed in researchers workflows, making it easier for them to accept and uptake Open Science practices of openness and FAIRness.


OpenAIRE-Advance facilitates the move to a more open and reproducible scientific landscape by offering a unique set of services to embed Open Science into researcher workflows to promote opening up, sharing and reusing of research outcomes.


OpenRiskNet has the objective to develop an open e-Infrastructure providing resources and services to a variety of communities requiring risk assessment, including chemicals, cosmetic ingredients, therapeutic agents and nanomaterials.


The Photon and Neutron Open Science Cloud (PaNOSC) is a cluster of ESFRI Research Institutes which proposes to align the efforts of the existing and new photon and neutron sources to make FAIR data a reality and link up to the European Open Science Cloud.


PRIMAGE proposes an open cloud-based platform to support decision making in the clinical management of two paediatric cancers, Neuroblastoma (NB), the most frequent solid cancer of early childhood, and the Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) the leading cause of brain tumour-related death in children.


PROCESS is focused on helping key players in the new data-driven ecosystem: top-level HPC, e-infrastructures and big data centres; scientific communities and companies with mission-critical extreme-scale data challenges.



The European Commission is providing financial support to implement the EOSC by means of projects under the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (Horizon 2020).
